Amos Beiler Farm

More About Amos Beiler Farm CODE 503

Beiler Farm is a owned by Amos & Lydia Beiler and is located in Ronks, PA. Their son, Arlen, and his wife, Dana, also help to run the farm. They are the 8th & 9th generations of Beilers to live at this property located in Eastern Lancaster County, in the heart of Amish Country. The original land was purchased from William Penn’s son, and the original deed was written on a piece of deerskin. Beiler Farm has been in egg production for over 65 years. Amos’s father, Silvan Beiler, set the local precedence with chicken farming in 1960 by building one of Lancaster County’s first caged-type chicken houses. Most farmers could raise only 200-300 hens at a time, while Silvan was able to house over 2,000.

Their current system is an aviary-type cage-free house. The birds have multiple tiers on which to roose and move around freely.

The chickens on this farm are cage-free, meaning they are raised in a stress-free environment and are not in cages. They are kept in large heated and air-cooled growing houses where they can roost and socialize freely, participating in their chicken behaviors and pecking orders, and laying their eggs in dark, quiet nests.
